Meet The Career Goddess
Hello! I’m Charlene. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m a Certified Public Accountant, International Speaker, and Success Coach. I’ve delivered keynote speeches and workshops at events all over the world and my articles have been featured in major publications including The Huffington Post,Black Enterprise, The Motley Fool, NASDAQ, MSN, Forbes Travel Guide, USA Today, Accounting Today, and many more.
My work experience ranges from working at a Big 4 Accounting Firm to managing finances for a top talent agency in Chicago. I started my career as a financial analyst at one of the largest banks in the world, worked as a brand ambassador for Fortune 500 companies, and appeared on television shows such as EMPIRE, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med.
In 2015, I won the title of Ms. Corporate America in a pageant held in Orlando, Fl. Little did I know, I was about to embark on a six-year sabbatical and scratch some items off my bucket list. I packed my bags and traveled on a six-month tour with Up with People to 15 cities within the United States, Mexico, Bermuda, Denmark, Belgium, Denmark, and Sweden. Then, I started to take spontaneous travel excursions around the world as I worked on my first book, “Dividends Are a Queen’s Best Friend.” In 2020, I published “Debt-Free Before Graduation” and “How to Find Happiness Again“
I’m excited to share my experiences to help you invest in yourself, whether you’re planning a career break or preparing for retirement. Reach out to me on LinkedIn if you want to work with me!

”Charlene helped coached me for my first pageant I ever competed in. While she helped me craft my interview, walk and stage presence–what sets her apart from anyone I’ve ever worked with was her genuine sense of interest in my life. Charlene helped me to become more confident and overcome the emotional/mental barriers that came with competing. She was super supportive and always a resource. I wholeheartedly recommend working with her”
“I reached out to Charlene while I was applying to a highly selective Pre MBA program. Although it was clear that I did my research, my WHY wasn’t clear. Charlene challenged me to dig deeper and personalize my essay. She asked me questions that helped me get to know myself better. I rewrote my essay telling MY personal story and not the version I felt the admissions team wanted to hear. The results were awesome! Without Charlene’s insight, I ran the risk of submitting an essay that was not personal enough to differentiate me from the other candidates.
