As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming pageant on Sunday, September 3rd, I find myself in the midst of a journey that goes beyond the glitz and glamour. With each passing day, I’m drawing closer to the stage while staying steadfast in my commitment to raising awareness for fibroid health, promoting mental well-being, and addressing the vital intersection of health and finance.

With The White Dress Project, my daily walks, and the Still She Rose mental health initiative, I’m excited to share how I’m weaving together my passions to make a meaningful impact. If you’ve never done a pageant before or are just curious about what goes on behind the scenes, here’s a look at my prep (and my every day lifestyle) from August 16th – 19th.

Walking for Awareness: A 30-Minute Daily Ritual

For the past weeks, my daily routine has included a 30-minute walk – not just for my personal health, but to raise awareness about fibroids and mental wellness.

Walking has always been a powerful metaphor for progress, and in this case, it symbolizes the journey that individuals with fibroids and mental health concerns navigate.

By dedicating these minutes to the cause, I’m sending a message of solidarity, empathy, and hope. The rhythm of each step echoes the heartbeat of those who strive for better health and well-being.

Although it’s easy to take full credit for your progress, I always have to give credit to my supporters and coaching who keep me moving forward. I am working with fitness coach Brook Marie Eneas to keep me accountable on my journey. Her fitness and nutrition plan is taking me where I want to go with every step I take.

Here’s a look at my step progress:

  • Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 = 4,873 steps
  • Thursday, August 17th, 2023 = 2,942 steps
  • Friday, August 18th, 2023 = 7,076 steps
  • Saturday, August 19th, 2023 = 14,511

The White Dress Project: Bridging Fibroid Awareness and Empowerment

Excruciating fibroid pain is a relentless and all-encompassing experience that can leave a person feeling utterly debilitated. It’s a pain that reaches far beyond physical discomfort, affecting every aspect of one’s life. I know firsthand how this feels.

Imagine a moment when the pain surges, and suddenly, you find yourself hunched over, clutching your abdomen in a desperate attempt to find some relief. Every movement feels like a battle against an unseen force that’s determined to drain your energy and steal away any semblance of normalcy.

Partnering with The White Dress Project has amplified my commitment to fibroid awareness. This remarkable organization stands as a beacon of empowerment for those affected by fibroids, bringing much-needed attention to a condition that often remains unspoken. My support is not just about raising funds; it’s about fostering a sense of community, providing a safe space for dialogue, and empowering individuals to take control of their health.

Last year, I wasn’t able to walk much because I was hunched over Walking becomes an impossible task as each step sends shockwaves of agony through your body. The pain wraps itself around you, making even the simplest of motions a monumental struggle. Every breath feels labored, as if you’re fighting against the pain just to inhale and exhale.

Fibroids are more than just physical challenges; they affect mental and emotional well-being as well. By walking hand in hand with The White Dress Project, I’m working towards breaking down stigmas, encouraging conversations, and helping individuals find the support they deserve.

Still She Rose: Elevating Mental Health Initiatives

The journey towards holistic well-being cannot be complete without addressing mental health. This is where the Still She Rose initiative comes into play.

Through my fundraising efforts, I aim to provide a lifeline to those who are struggling mentally. The initiative’s message of resilience and growth resonates deeply with me – just as financial stability requires resilience and growth, so does mental well-being.

I’m happy to contribute to the Still She Rose mental health. So far, I’ve raised over $1,000 in just a few short days and there’s still two more weeks to go. My fundraising efforts helped me land the #1 spot on the International Ms Leaderboard. The International Ms organization posted the below results on Wednesday, August 16th. The top fundraiser will secure a spot into the International Final Top 10! You can vote for me while contributing to a worth cause. Cast your vote here.

Intersection of Health and Finance: My Passion and Purpose

The connection between health and finance is undeniable. Millions around the world grapple with the challenges of both, and I’m passionate about finding solutions that can positively impact lives. As I walk, fundraise, and advocate, I’m driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and the tools to secure their financial future.

By addressing the intersection of health and finance, I aspire to create opportunities for empowerment. Whether it’s raising awareness for fibroids, supporting mental health initiatives, or finding innovative ways to enhance financial well-being, my goal is to help millions navigate these complex journeys with confidence and support.

Counting Down to Impact: Beyond the Pageant Stage

As the days tick away towards the pageant, my excitement is equaled by my determination to make a difference. This journey is more than a personal pursuit – it’s a mission to empower, inspire, and effect change. By intertwining the threads of fibroid awareness, mental well-being, and financial stability, I’m setting the stage for a future where health and finance are not barriers, but gateways to a better life.

Together, let’s walk, fundraise, and champion these causes, knowing that our efforts are creating ripples of change that extend far beyond the 14-day countdown and the pageant stage. In uniting health and finance, we’re fostering a world where millions can thrive.
