The Making of a Career Goddess: September Month-End Report

Hi! I’m Charlene Rhinehart – Founder of the Career Goddess Academy. I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years of combined experience in public accounting, financial services, public speaking, and leadership development.

After winning the title of Ms. Corporate America 2015 in a pageant held in Orlando, Fl, I wanted to use all of my experiences to help more women win in the workplace and build a life they love through entrepreneurship. If there is anything that you want to achieve, there are women who have done it or like-minded women who aspire to do it. In January 2016, I started the Career Goddess Academy. My vision is to make this site a premier source of empowerment and education for success driven female millennials between the ages of 17-27 who may not have always had access to career resources that could propel their future. Then there are the additional challenges faced by first-generation college students, individuals growing up in single parent homes, those who didn’t thrive in a traditional educational setting, or lived life in a marginalized community that needs to be addressed. But here is the truth: It doesn’t matter where you come from or how dreadful your past looks. A Career Goddess knows how to use any card they are given in life in order to create a winning hand. I believe that you can have anything you want. You just have to make sure that what you want aligns with the core of who you are. You also have to be consistent. [Tweet “As one of my great mentors, Quinton James, once said, “Consistent process makes progress”. “]

If I want to help you to be your best, I have to hold myself accountable to those same standards. I am testing all of the ideas that I am sharing with others. After returning home from a 6 – month world tour in June, I had to start my life over. I had to recreate my professional identity and use that to attract the opportunities that I want.

So how do I plan to reinvent my life and make the best days ahead more purposeful and impactful? I’m going to do the same things that I did to achieve success as a full-time Accountant. Every month, I was required to perform a month-end close. The close process allows you to understand the financial health of the organization and give you the opportunity to make decisions in a timely manner. In essence, the monthly closing is a mini-audit that closes the books for the current month. It also gives you the opportunity to compare current results to prior months and make decisions that eliminate waste and accelerate progress.
