Just because you’re one of those creatives (actor, singer, dancer, writer, artist, etc.) doesn’t mean you have to starve financially until you get your big break.

Yes – it’s possible for you to ditch the Ramen noodles every night and grab you a piece of pan-seared salmon from one of the most luxurious hotels in Memphis (Big Cypress Lodge).

Are you ready to make some extra cash while you dash towards your life-long dreams? Get your resume, headshot, and speaking voice ready so you can take advantage of these fun side gigs!

1.Brand Ambassador

Are you a people person? Do you love to speak? Are you ready to make AT LEAST $20/hour (IL)?

Well, it’s a no-brainer that you should get on the brand ambassador train.

A brand ambassador is usually an independent contractor (unless you sign a deal!) that works flexible hours to represent a brand, product, or service they believe in. Your job is to share the love – and increase sales!

If you’re hunting for opportunities, this is a great time to check out some of these gigs. If you want to know the best way to capture the opportunities, join me for the Profit from Passion webinar.

Opportunities:

  • Guerilla Marketing
  • Street Team Promotions
  • Fitness Ambassador
  • Represent a Health Brand
  • In-Store Demos
  • Promote chocolate (yummy!)
  • Promotional Model
  • Emcee
  • Mascot (would love to try this gig one day!)
  • Beer Promo Model
  • Tech Brand Ambassador
  • Event Lead/Team Lead
  • Tradeshow Model
  • And many more!

So, if you’re bored out of your mind on the weekends and are tired of watching reruns of your parent’s favorite TV show, find out how you can become a brand ambassador.

The time commitment is convenient too! If you’re doing an in-store cocktail promotion, you could work for 2 hours! Yasssss! Most in-store demos in whole foods are 3 hours long. If you’re working a special event (such as the Chicago Marathon), you could work the full day and get at least $20 an hour. That’s extra money that you can use to multiply your money in the markets (and not just the stock market!).

Just make sure you are professional, reliable, and approachable or you’ll acquire a bad reputation before your first shift is over. And we all know ain’t nobody got time to be messing up their financial flow (nope!).

2. Sell Clothes Online

While your peers are out playing beer pong, you can start making money while in your thong. Ok, I’m taking it too far but I was just trying to use some of my creative rhyming skills (and I’m done!).

You can make money from the comfort of your home by selling clothes you wouldn’t be caught dead in today. I’m not saying your clothes are atrocious at all (don’t be putting words in my mouth!). I’m just saying that people grow and your clothes may not fit the person you’ve become today.

So, let’s talk money.

I made $200 by selling one of my pageant cocktail dresses on Poshmark. I was super excited because I found out I had a buyer when I woke up from my beauty sleep. Now don’t tell me you wouldn’t wake up happy if you received notification about some extra cash that you weren’t even expecting?

If you’re ready to clean out your closet and get rewarded in a major way for doing your chores, here are some sites that you can check out. I can’t go on without thanking my beautiful and talented acting buddy, Darja Igorevna Väärsi, for her recommendations:

Darja’s Online Shop Recommendations:

  • Poshmark
  • Mercari
  • Depop
  • Etsy
  • Thredup
  • Tradesy
  • Vinted
  • Ebay

Ready to get started? Just take some fab pictures of your clothes (might be better if you or a model wear the attire in a picture), create an account, upload pictures to the sites, write a description, and name your price.

Now rest your eyes and wake up to beautiful income surprises. Aaaaaaah.

3. Profit from your Passion

Ok, this is one of my faves. I can write a 4-page letter about this topic (well I’m actually writing a book about 101 ways to Profit from Pageantry – stay tuned!).

So what’s the first step?

Well duh, you need to find out what your passion is.

So I can tell you the step by step tips on how to do that but my fingers would probably fall off. How about you join me at an upcoming webinar?

4. Shop & Receive Rewards Cards

Ok, I don’t discriminate when it comes to side gigs (unless it’s illegal or harmful). Side gigs don’t come in one shape or form. It’s about being strategic and learning how to profit from things that you already do!

So, if you’re a shopaholic or can’t leave Target without adding a little bit more to your shopping cart, here’s your chance to get rewarded for it.

Introducing…Shopkick!

It’s an app that you can download to the savvy hand-held advice that you can’t stop looking at every second of the day. Turn on your app and you can accumulate points just for walking in stores.

So here’s how it works:

  1. Download the ShopKick App. Click here to access my unique link.
  2. Put in the requested information. Choose what type of gift card you would like to receive when you acquire enough points.
  3. Take a look at all the stores included in the app. The walking symbol means you can get points just for walking into a store. The scanner symbol means you can get points for scanning certain items in the store. The receipt symbol means you can earn extra points for buying certain items and uploading your receipt.
  4. Open the shop kick app when you walk into the store to earn your points.
  5. Remember: you don’t have to purchase anything. You can get points just for walking into stores. Say what?

Here are some of the stores that give you points for walking in:

  • Walmart
  • Marshalls
  • Target
  • T.J.Maxx
  • Carter’s
  • Best Buy
  • American Eagle Outfitters
  • Charming Charlie
  • And so many more!

5. Health & Fitness

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is the last side gig you are approaching for this post. Don’t worry, there are many, many more opportunities. You can even click here to find out more about lazy income!

So let’s talk about the health and wellness industry. There are billions of dollars hanging around in this neck of the woods. Why? Because we all need it!

So, if you’re into health and wellness, here are a few ideas to get the ball running:

  • Nutritionist
  • Healthy food blogger
  • Corporate Wellness Consultant
  • Group Fitness Instructor
  • Personal Trainer
  • Fitness blogger
  • Health food cook (if you can cook up a lean dish, there are lots of people who will have your phone number memorized!)

And the best part – you can get started within 30 days! Launching a business idea is really simple. Get a name, identify your services, and name your price. There you go! Now all you need is a flyer to promote your services.

So, how hard was that?
